Yuri Costa
Was born in Nilópolis, Baixada Fluminense, a suburb of Rio de Janeiro. As a filmmaker, he directed the horror short films "E SEU CORPO É BELO" (2024), “EGUM” (2020), and "ELEGUÁ" (2018), earning selections at festivals such as the Mostra de Cinema de Tiradentes, Festival do Rio, Grande Otelo Prize of Brazilian Cinema, ShortsMexico, and FicValdivia. His works have received over 20 awards, including the Barroco Trophy for Best Short Film from the Official Jury of Tiradentes. Winner of the 24th Screenwriting Lab at Festival Curta Cinema (2021) and selected for the New Screenwriters Program by Globosat (2019), he contributed to the series "Dias Perfeitos" (2025), set to premiere on Globoplay. He is an associate of APAN (Black Audiovisual Professionals Association) and holds a master's degree in communication from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), with research focused on Afrosurrealism.
