Mariana Alvim

Screenwriter and Director, graduated in Social Communication (1991), Master in Media Studies (MA) and Certificate in Cinema, both from The New School for Social Research-NY (1997). In the US worked at In Motion Productions, NYC, as an assistant director serving PBS TV (1994-97). She directed and scripted the documentary: “Coming from Bahia” (1992), Museum of Broadcast NYC. She was editor of the specials “Filhos de Laboratório” and “Brazilian Soccer” (SBT), “Reporter Especial” (1997), produced in NY. At TV GLOBO since 1998, she worked on the content teams of the programs: Muvuca, Mais Você, Amor e Sexo, Domingão do Faustão, The Voice Brasil (2012), Big Brother Brasil (2013), Rock in Rio (2013). At GNT she was assistant director of Alternativa Saúde (2008). She directed and scripted the series “Mercados” (2015). Worked as a Script supervisor for 3 films series “Padroeiros” (Chamon Produções 2018-19). Scriptwriter for the series “Sem Cortes” - Globo Portugal seasons 2018 and 2019. Scriptwriter for the program “Tamanho Família” (Globo - 2020). Responsible for the adaptation and script of the Fiction Feature: “Cartas” (Chamon Produções). She is currently directing the documentary “Marietta Baderna dos Palcos aos Dicionários”.
