Cássio Kelm
Is a transgender male director and screenwriter. He studied Fiction Direction at the "Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de los Baños" – EICTV, in Cuba. He has written and directed 15 short films (documentary and fiction), as well as a feature-length documentary, which have been awarded and screened at more than 80 festivals worldwide. "SOY" (2017) won the Special Jury Award for student documentaries at IDFA in Amsterdam. "MÃES DO DERICK" (2020) was showcased at the Tiradentes Exhibition and the Torino International Festival in Italy. The film received a Special Mention at the Mix Brazil Festival. "PERTO DE VOCÊ" (2021) was part of the official selection at IDFA and Olhar de Cinema. In 2023, he co-directed the second season of BORN TO FASHION, on E! Channel (to debut). He is currently writing his first fiction feature film, funded through a grant from FSA. He also works as a visual arts teacher and as a curator for exhibitions and festivals.
