Carolina Sá
Director, screenwriter, and author of various audiovisual projects for television and cinema. Carolina holds a Bachelor's degree in Theater from CAL (Casa de Artes de Laranjeiras). She directed the Brazilian episode of the Netflix original series "My Love - 6 Stories of True Love," filmed in six countries (a co-production between the USA, Brazil, and South Korea), which won the IDA (International Documentary Awards 2022) for Best Episodic Series. She conceived and directed the series "Where Ideas Are Born" (Canal Curta!) with eight episodes about the creative process of Brazilian artists, including Bia Lessa, Lia Rodrigues, Angel Vianna, Paula Gaitán, and Juçara Marçal. The series won the Festival & Prêmio Curta! Documentaries Curta! 2023 in the Arts category. She wrote and directed the feature film "Construction," released at the 35th São Paulo International Film Festival, with associate production by Walter Salles and Patrícia Pillar. The film received an Honorable Mention from the Jury at the FEMINA festival, dedicated to female productions. She wrote, directed, and produced the documentary series "Música Libre" with five episodes about the musical universe of the Caribbean. The series, co-produced by Vídeofilmes, was broadcast on GNT, Canal Brasil, and Canal Curta! in Brazil, and on BETJazz in the USA. She directed several documentaries and programs for Canal Futura, Multishow, TV Brasil, and Canal Gloob. Recently, she developed a documentary series for Max and has just completed a feature film co-directed with Lirio Ferreira for Canal Curta! about the work of Hermeto Pascoal.
